Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Summary

  • We collect what we need to run Faveez: your email, your profile, and what you add.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We use PostHog to count, anonymously, how the app is used.
  • Public lists are public. Private lists are only seen by people who have the link or that you invite.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Who is responsible

Faveez is responsible for your personal data. The person in charge of protecting personal information at Faveez can be reached at hello@faveez.com.

What we collect

Your account: email address, name, nickname, handle, profile picture, interests and language.

What you add: lists (title, description, notes, cover picture, privacy settings), items, notes, comments and mentions, suggestions, votes, saved lists, and lists you report.

What other people add about you: a mention in a comment, or an item a collaborator adds to your list.

Gift buyers without an account: if you mark an item as bought without an account, we keep the name you type. Your browser keeps a small code so you can undo it.

Product links: the links you paste, the shop page they lead to, and your country. We get your country from your IP address, so we can show prices from your country. We do not store your IP address in our database. Our hosting providers may keep it for a short time in their security logs.

Activity and emails: events on lists you follow (for example, a new comment), so we can show and email them to you, and whether each email was sent.

Moderation: reports and actions taken by our team, kept in a log.

We do not collect your precise location (GPS), your contacts, your payment details or your device advertising ID.

Why we use it

  • To run Faveez: create your account, sign you in, save and show your lists. (Legal basis in the EU: our contract with you.)
  • To send emails: sign-in codes, and activity emails that you can turn off. (Contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping you informed about your lists.)
  • To fill in product details from the links you paste. (Contract.)
  • To keep Faveez safe: handle reports, stop abuse, fix bugs. (Legitimate interest.)
  • To follow the law. (Legal obligation.)

We do not use your data for ads, and we do not sell or share it for ads.

Who can see your content

  • Private lists (shared by link): people who have the link, and people you invite.
  • Public lists: anyone. They appear on Discover and on your public profile, and search engines can find them.
  • Your profile: your name, handle and picture appear next to your lists, comments and suggestions.

Services we use

These companies process data for us, only to run Faveez:

  • Supabase — accounts, database and file storage (United States).
  • Vercel — hosting the website and API (United States).
  • Resend — sending emails.
  • PostHog — anonymous analytics, to count how the app is used (United States).
  • Firecrawl — reading product pages. The link you paste is sent to Firecrawl and to the shop's website. Your account details are not sent.

We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

International transfers

Faveez stores data in the United States. If you live in Canada, the EU, the UK or elsewhere, your data is sent to the US. We rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses or other legal safeguards for these transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. When you delete your account, we delete it as described below.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in Settings, or ask us at hello@faveez.com. When you do:

  • We delete your account, profile, lists, items in your lists, pictures, saved links and activity.
  • Your comments on other people's lists are erased and show as "deleted". Replies from other people stay.
  • Items you added to other people's lists stay on their lists, because they are part of those lists. We remove your name and your notes from them.
  • We keep the log of moderation actions, to keep Faveez safe.

Cookies and local storage

We only use what Faveez needs to work:

  • sign-in cookies, to keep you signed in;
  • a language cookie (kept 1 year);
  • a short cookie (1 hour) to bring you back to the right page after you sign in;
  • local storage in your browser for your theme, list view, and gift undo codes.

We do not use advertising cookies. Our web analytics use no cookie, so we do not ask for cookie consent.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can:

  • get a copy of your data;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • object to or limit some uses;
  • withdraw consent you gave.

You can do most of this in the app. For the rest, email hello@faveez.com. We will answer within 30 days. We will not treat you differently because you used these rights.

If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

If you live in Canada, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or in Québec to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

US residents: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. You have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it.

Children

Faveez is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child gave us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and sign-in codes instead of passwords. No service is perfectly secure, so please contact us if you see a problem.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in an important way, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
